Swans District combine forces with Caversham Primary for Active-After School Centre

The Swans District is at the midway point of its Active-After School Program at Caversham Primary School. With the thirst of football escalating in the Swan Valley, Caversham Active-After School Centre has thrown open the gates to over 30 participants from the surrounding community and is delivering a 6 week program designed at creating exposure for local junior clubs and increasing participation rates within the area.

The program, delivered by the raft of Swans District staff, has identified enjoyment and engagement as key areas for which to expand the Caversham Active-After School Program for the best interests of the Caversham and surrounding communities. With a host of activities aimed at skill development and participation the Caversham Primary School in conjunction with the Swans District aims to provide kids the necessary basics to join the Swans District Junior Competition.

Swans District Manager, Isaac Stewart, welcomes the interest in the Caversham area as the growth in the area is undeniable, “We aim to continue our strong relationship with the Caversham Primary School and community as we have identified the Swan Valley as one of key growth areas for the Swans District to continue expanding and grow our great game”.

The Active-After School Centre is just one of the many programs at the primary school as the Swans District plans to deliver a bundle of programs in 2014 and beyond with another instalment of School-Based Auskick Centre and Eagles Faction Footy coming soon. Principle partners, Progress Developments, Little Group and St. Leonards Private Estate are providing inundated support for the Swans District and its plan to have sustained growth in the Caversham and surrounding area.

Caversham Primary School will also play host to the imminent visit of AFL Auskick Ambassador, Shane Crawford. With the Swans District, providing background support to the visit, Crawford will promote the NAB AFL Auskick Program to the eager students who await, as well as deliver an hour session based on the Auskick Program with participation and enjoyment, key planks for the promotional campaign of the NAB AFL Auskick Program.
